Savannah heavily featured in ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 finale
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Local fans of the HBO show Peacemaker might have noticed some very familiar locations in the show’s season two finale, which aired on October 9, 2025.
During the finale of Peacemaker Season 2, multiple scenes take place on and around the Savannah riverfront, albeit a heavily modified version.
The exterior of the fictional Big Belly Burger restaurant, for example, is actually the area of River Street which in real life holds Joe’s Crab Shack.
Those with close ties to Savannah may also recognize an iconic paddleboat during a few important scenes on the riverfront.
The first season of Peacemaker was also filmed in Georgia, but the October 9th season two finale featured the most obvious Savannah-centric location shots of the series so far.
“I think Georgia is an ideal place to film, because they are a friend of the industry,” actor John Cena said in a promotional video for the Georgia Film Office last month. “Georgia is one of the premiere states, if not the premiere state, to offer incentives and welcome the film base.”
Director James Gunn says they shot in Georgia both because he loves living in Atlanta, and because the film crews there are the best.
“Georgia has everything you need in terms of filming,” Gunn said.
Other filming locations for Peacemaker Season 2 in Georgia included Fayetteville, Atlanta, Paulding County, and Dallas, according to Travel+Leisure.
