Savannah Children’s Theatre makes official purchase of Star Castle property
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Wednesday, the Savannah Children’s Theatre announced their official purchase of the Star Castle property.
The theatre has been without a home and in search of a new facility for the last 256 days. They’ve been using different community venues like the JEA, Savannah State, and more.
The purchase announcement comes a little over 5 months since Savannah staple and stand alone skating rink, Star Castle, revealed its plan to close indefinitely.
The organization says they intend to transform the former roller rink into a new, vibrant performing arts center.
The theatre says its next phase will be continuing to seek their Founding 50 donors & fundraise for the next stage.
