Police ask for assistance after chase in Statesboro ends in crash, driver flees on foot

STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - A police chase in Statesboro ended in a vehicle crash, which then led to the driver running away on foot, earlier today, October 10, 2025.

In a social media post, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office says one of its deputies initiated a traffic stop earlier this afternoon on Highway 46.

“After retrieving the driver’s information,” the Sheriff’s Office says, “the driver fled from the scene.”

Deputies and Georgia State Patrol pursued the vehicle “until the driver lost control and crashed near the intersection of Hwy 67 and Anderson Cemetery Rd., where the driver fled on foot.”

Authorities identify the driver as Breyon Williams and say he was last seen wearing a light colored hoodie and a ball cap.

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office asks that if anyone has information on this incident, or the whereabouts of Williams, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 912-764-8888 and ask to speak with the dispatcher.
