Oso claims victory at annual Savannah Wiener Dog Races
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The annual Wiener Dog Races returned to the Plant Riverside District Saturday, kicking off Oktoberfest with a beloved River Street tradition that has entertained crowds for decades.
WTOC’s First Alert Meteorologist Andrew Gorton and Investigative Reporter Shea Schrader hosted the festivities, adding to the community celebration.
This year’s champion, Oso, had a particularly sweet victory after losing in last year’s competition. The dachshund’s triumphant comeback highlighted the competitive spirit that makes these races a cherished local event.
