Mother, child hit by SUV right before Christmas tree lighting in Jesup
JESUP, Ga. (WTOC) - A mother and child were hit by an SUV right before the City of Jesup’s Christmas Tree Lighting.
The city said the mother and child were hit by a vehicle at around 5:45 p.m. while using the crosswalk on Cherry Street. The driver of a red Chevrolet Trax is suspected of driving under the influence, wrote the city in a release on social media.
The pair were transported for additional evaluation and medical care.
According to the City of Jesup, Georgia State Patrol has taken responsibility for the investigation.
