Man arrested in ongoing Port Wentworth domestic-related shooting investigation

PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 10/12/25] As a part of an ongoing investigation, Port Wentworth Police officers arrested Tyler Kyles in connection to a domestic-related shooting.

Kyles has been charged with aggravated assault in connection to the incident.

This investigation is active and ongoing.

[ORIGINAL STORY] The Port Wentworth Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person injured Friday evening.

According to Pooler Police Department, they responded to an urgent care facility in Pooler in response to a report of a gunshot victim at 4:25 p.m.

After a deeper investigation, officers determined that the incident occurred at the Wentworth Apartment Complex in Port Wentworth.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital by the other party involved in this incident.

They are currently listed in critical condition.

The other person of interest involved in the incident is in custody, and detectives are actively investigating the case.

Preliminary findings indicate this was an isolated domestic incident, and there is no threat to the public at this time.
