Man arrested in Hilton Head Island stabbing

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that occurred Sunday night on Hilton Head Island, according to a press release WTOC just received.

At approximately 7:20 p.m. on November 30, 2025, officials say deputies responded to the area of Shelter Cove Lane for a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, deputies located a 62-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

The BCSO says a male suspect, identified as 39-year-old Sean Elliott, along with several witnesses, remained on scene.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred after the vehicle the victim was traveling in turned on to Shelter Cove Lane from a parking lot and the victim felt something hit the side of the car.

Once he exited the car, officials say the victim and Elliott had an argument that became physical. At some point during the incident, Elliott retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim.

Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue responded and the victim was transported for medical treatment of his injuries, according to the press release.

Elliott was arrested on the charge of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime. He was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
