Jenkins vs. Liberty County football game relocated over safety precautions
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The high school football matchup between Jenkins High and Liberty County, originally scheduled for Memorial Stadium, has been relocated to Liberty County High School.
According to the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, the decision was made as a precautionary measure following a review of isolated student altercations and broader community safety concerns.
Officials emphasized that there is no active threat at this time.
Both schools agreed to the venue change, and kickoff remains scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday in Liberty County.
School district representatives noted the move was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of students, athletes, and fans.
WTOC has reported on two lockdowns at Jenkins High school since the start of the school year.
