I-95 North traffic shift at Ogeechee River rescheduled to Sept. 5
BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE] Due to inclement weather expected this weekend, the I-95 northbound traffic shift has been rescheduled for September 5.
There will be overnight lane closures September 3 and September 4 to prepare for the shift. All work should be completed by September 10, weather permitting.
Original Story: Drivers can expect major overnight delays starting this week on I-95 North at Ogeechee River.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the shift will begin Friday, August 22.
“Even though traffic will be maintained during this work, motorists should expect major travel delays on August 20 and 21 while the contractor is modifying striping to accommodate the traffic shift,” GDOT wrote in a press release.
GDOT said all work should be complete and shift should be removed by August 27, but they remind the public, “all work is subject to change due to weather and other factors.”
This work comes two weeks after GDOT announced they would be shutting down the southbound lanes for bridge work.
