Hardeeville police looking for man in connection to unhoused encampment shooting
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WTOC) - The Hardeeville Police Department is seeking to locate and question Darius Hamilton in connection with a shooting in the area of Paynesville Road on October 4, 2025.
According to the police department, the shooting “occurred in the area of a homeless encampment following a verbal altercation.”
One adult male was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition, officials say.

Hamilton is wanted in connection with last Saturday’s shooting in Hardeeville and for probation violations.
Police say Hamilton should be considered armed. Anyone with information on his location should contact the Hardeeville Police Department and not approach.
