Hardeeville man makes a plea to heroin trafficking case

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - Hardeeville man makes a plea to heroin trafficking before trial The Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office released a statement on March 17 confirming a guilty plea to a drug trafficking case.

Officials confirmed Mark Elliott Martin Jr. pleaded guilty to heroin trafficking and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in Jasper County. Law enforcement said Martin is set to spend two decades in prison.

Law enforcement officers reported they recovered approximately 24 grams of heroin and multiple firearms during the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Marshall Frodsham.

“This guilty plea holds him accountable and reflects the commitment by our office, as well as Hardeeville Police, to aggressively prosecute these serious crimes,” Frodsham said
