Hampton County Sheriff’s Office, MADD South Carolina joining forces for ‘Saturation Saturday’
HAMPTON, S.C. (WTOC) - On Saturday, the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office is joining forces with Mothers Against Drunk Driving for ‘Saturation Saturday’.
MADD South Carolina and partner agencies across the state are hosting a coordinated initiative to fight impaired driving ahead of Labor Day weekend. The effort aligns with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign. The campaign will increase impaired-driving enforcement during one of the year’s busiest travel periods.
The Hampton County Sheriff’s Office will increase its high visibility DUI enforcement on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
“Driving impaired is not just breaking the law, it’s a choice that can destroy lives. We’re asking everyone to take responsibility: plan ahead, don’t drink and drive, and help us keep our community safe,” said Sheriff Anthony Russell.
Saturation Saturday will launch locally with a briefing for participating deputies and traffic units, followed by dedicated DUI patrols and proactive traffic safety operations throughout Hampton County.
The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to plan ahead by designating a sober driver, using rideshare or taxis, and intervening if someone is about to drive impaired.
