Gulfstream invests $5 million in Georgia education
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Gulfstream Aerospace announced a $5 million investment in Georgia education, supporting schools, technical colleges, and universities in the Savannah area.
The funding helps students from K-12 through the college level, strengthening the local talent pipeline for business aviation.
“As we continue to grow, to be able to ensure that we can provide local talent that helps us grow our business,” said Mark Burns, Gulfstream’s President.
With more than 13,000 employees in Georgia, Gulfstream has a major role in the state’s aerospace industry. Jobs span multiple avenues, including research, engineering, and aerospace technology.

Workforce growth
Burns said the company has added about 8,000 employees since COVID, mostly through the education system in Savannah and Georgia.
“We recruit at all the colleges throughout Georgia,” Burns said.
Apprenticeships continue to grow for manufacturing and interior work at Gulfstream, helping train high school and college students.
At Savannah Technical College, the partnership provides financial assistance to students and provides tools and equipment for training. Savannah Tech’s President said it also helps recruit students to campus.
“So many of our students are in apprenticeships already. They’re already employed with Gulfstream, and so they’re working here several days a week and are going through our industrial maintenance programs, A and P programs, or any one of the aviation programs,” said Ryan Foley, Savannah Technical College President.
Gulfstream said the investment in education pays off with a trained and skilled local workforce, which is expected to grow even more in the next five years.
