Garden City to give out sand, sandbags to residents ahead of storm
GARDEN CITY, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Garden City is providing sand and sandbags to residents and businesses ahead of potential weather impacts.
Officials say sand will be available at City Hall, on Central Avenue, and the Public Works Facility, on Bud Brown Drive, starting Saturday.
Residents are asked to bring their own shovels to fill the bags.
Sandbags will be available Saturday until 4 p.m. and Sunday from Noon until 4 p.m., while supplies last, at Fire Station No. 1, on State Route 25/Main Street, and Fire Station No. 2 on Highway 80.
Sandbags will be limited to five bags per household.
