Funeral procession to honor GBI Special Agent Tracy Sands Tuesday

EVANS COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Tuesday, a funeral procession in honor of GBI Special Agent Tracy Sands will be held.

Sands passed away suddenly over the weekend.

In a social media post the Evans County Sheriff’s Office said, “We have received numerous calls about folks wanting to line Hwy 280 in Claxton for Special Agent Sands’ funeral procession on Tuesday. We would like to let you know that is ok to do so, and we encourage you to participate in that. Please remember to park off of the Hwy in parking areas and also remember this is an opportunity to honor and respect Agent Sands for all he did to make Evans County a safe place to call our home.”

Over the weekend many local law enforcement agencies commented on how his loss has impacted the community.
