BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Monday is the last day to register to vote for municipal elections on November 4th.

Officials are reminding Bulloch County voters of an important vote they will see on the ballot.

For Bulloch County residents, the E-SPLOST vote on the election ballot will determine if new projects for the school district including a new high school will be able to be completed.

The one- penny education sales tax, known as E-SPLOST, will appear on the ballot for Bulloch County voters November 4th.

Voters will be able to check or yes or no to renewing the sixth E-SPLOST cycle for another five years.

Bulloch County schools is currently in its fifth E-SPLOST cycle.

The school board says the future of the brand new Southeast High School will be determined by voters choosing to renew E-SPLOST.

Without this funding, the board says the project will be pushed back until the near $165,000,000 or project can be paid for another way

The school district says the E-SPLOST funds will cover a wide range of other things like technology equipment, nutrition programs, school busses, and new facilities at certain schools.

The school district says the alternative to this E-SPLOST sales tax, is an increase in property taxes.

The county’s property taxes are already expected to rise almost 40% in the next year due to the school district being in a $15,000,000 deficit for fiscal year 2027.
