by Brontë Sorotsky

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah has fully lifted the boil water advisory that was first issued Friday evening.

Tests done Sunday morning confirmed that the remaining effected areas under the advisory showed no presence of coliform bacteria, and the water is safe to consume.

The city says all operations at the City’s I&D Water Treatment Plant are normal. City staff will return to routine water quality testing and monitoring protocols for the drinking water system.

The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System assured families that all schools will operate on normal schedules Monday.

“With this morning’s lifting of the City of Savannah’s Boil Water notice for all area utility customers, we want to assure our families that all schools will be open and operating on regular schedules on Monday. We look forward to seeing our students in class,” wrote SCCPSS.
