Beaufort Co. Sheriff’s Office to host Q&A regarding ongoing investigation into mass shooting
ST. HELENA ISLAND, SC. (WTOC) - Wednesday, we are expecting to learn new information on the deadly mass shooting on St. Helena Island that killed four people and injured 20 others.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said they will take questions from reporters about the incident.
We have been asking the sheriff’s office questions about trying to gather the latest information.
But instead we have been met with unanswered questions and have been told that deputies are still investigating and are still looking into leads in this case.
The shooting happened early Sunday morning at Willie’s Bar and Grill on St. Helena.
Four people were killed and twenty were injured, four of which from what we were last told are still in critical condition.
The press conference about the shooting is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
We’ll have live coverage then and throughout the day.
‘I can’t forgive this’: Brother of victim in mass shooting speaks out
We spoke with the brother of Amos Ramon Gary, one of the four people killed in Sunday’s shooting. He told us this is a devastating loss for their family.

“I know that, as a community, we all felt this pain together. And to the person—or the people—who caused this… God can forgive, but I can’t. I can’t forgive this. You harmed innocent people for no reason, and I’ll never forgive the ones involved. That’s it," said brother, Johnny Williams.
He was in Atlanta at the time and couldn’t believe what had happened. Amos Gary’s brother told us he’ll miss his older brother deeply—and that he’ll always remember the legacy he leaves behind.
Speaking with St. Helena community activist
We spoke with Reverend Thomas Davis, who has an outreach ministry named New Directions: Break The Cycle and is also a relative of one of the victims in Sunday’s deadly shooting, his organization looks to help people break the cycle of instability in their lives.
He says he was devastated by the shooting and feels that more could be done with educating the younger generation, which he believes could have a huge impact on the future of Beaufort County especially when it comes to gun violence in the area.

“I think that if we put a program in the middle schools and junior high schools, so we can teach them norms, values, and ethics and what life is really about then it will be a big difference in our communities,” said Davis.
Davis says that hopefully he will be able to work with the county to open his already built drop-in center soon to give his ministry a place where people can go.
