Beaufort Co. Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal shooting on St. Helena Island
BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC. (WTOC) - One person is dead after a shooting on St. Helena Island.
According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of a gunshot victim at a home on Capers Island Circle just before midnight.
When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with a vehicle that was attempting to transport the victim to the hospital. Deputies attempted life saving measures until EMS arrived and transported the victim to the hospital.
Despite efforts to save the victim’s life, the victim passed away from their injuries.
Officials say the circumstances of this incident are still under investigation.
No charges have been pursued at this time.
