All-clear given after High Point Elementary School evacuated for bomb threat, officials say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An all-clear was given Thursday afternoon after a Sandy Springs elementary school was evacuated due to a late-morning bomb threat.
Shortly before 2 p.m., school officials said the building was cleared. Normal operations will resume on Friday.
In a letter to parents, High Point Elementary School Principal Danielle Miller said all students were safe and accounted for. The children and staff were escorted to Atlanta Jewish Academy and then taken to Ridgeview Middle School.
Students got lunch at Ridgeview. The school asks parents to pick up their children at Ridgeview, not High Point or Atlanta Jewish Academy.
This is a developing story. Check back with Atlanta News First as we learn more.
