4th annual Duck Derby event in Effingham Co.

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Effingham County Sherriff’s Office held their fourth annual “Duck Derby” fundraiser Saturday. The mission was to bring law enforcement and residents in the community to together.

“This is the fourth annual duck derby event that the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has had. All the funds that are generated here through the duck races and duck sales go to the Georgia Sheriff Youth Homes and Sheriff Youth Homes are a place where kids that feel neglected or abandoned, they get to go there and be housed. These funds help keep that place running and keep the kids happy and safe, so this is a very important event for the Sherriff. It’s a big thing for us to do community-wise, you can see everybody from all throughout the county and everywhere else that comes out to help celebrate,” said Effingham County Sheriff’s Office PIO, Brian Bailey.
