15-year-old arrested for multiple vehicle break-ins in Brunswick
BRUNSWICK, Ga. (WTOC) - A 15-year-old male has been arrested and faces multiple charges following reports of several vehicle break-ins, according to the Glynn County Police Department (GCPD).
In a press release, the GCPD says the investigation began on July 15 at approximately 11:29 a.m. when officers from the GCPD responded to reports of multiple auto break-ins at D&J Automotive on Granville Nix Lane.
Police say that officers discovered that several vehicles had been unlawfully entered overnight, and various personal items had been stolen, including sunglasses, knives, a watch, and other miscellaneous property.
GCPD officers spotted the suspect walking down the sidewalk on Altama Avenue while reviewing the business’ security video, which the release states also showed the same suspect entering the vehicles.
Officers apprehended the 15-year-old and contacted his guardians before interviewing him at GCPD headquarters.
The juvenile suspect has been charged with three counts of Entering an Automobile with the Intent to Commit Theft and has been released to the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice pending a court appearance.
