1 person dies after house fire on Whitefield Ave.
CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - UPDATE: The Chatham County Fire Department says the victim died from the injuries sustained in the house fire.
Fire crews stayed on scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
One person was taken to the hospital after a house fire in Chatham County.
The Chatham County Fire Department was dispatched to the 9000 block of Whitefield Avenue at about 10:25 p.m. Monday night.
When units arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the home.
Chatham Fire says the found one person inside the home during a search.
The patient was removed and treated by EMS at the scene before being taken to the hospital.
