1 dead after collision involving a 4-wheeler in Jasper County, says SCHP
JASPER COUNTY, SC. (WTOC) - [UPDATE] Jasper County’s Coroner identified the deceased as 44-year-old Clarence J. Washington.
The Coroner said Washington was treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating this incident, according to the coroner.
[ORIGINAL STORY] One person is dead after a collision involving a four-wheeler in Jasper County.
South Carolina Highway Patrol said this collision happened at around 2 p.m. Sunday on Purrysburg Road at Old Charleston Highway, which is around two miles north of Hardeeville.
There was only one person involved in this collision, according to SCHP.
Highway Patrol said the person was riding a four-wheeler west on Purrysburg Road when they traveled off the left side of the roadway into a ditch.
The driver was injured and taken to a local hospital, where they later died due to their injuries.
The identify of the deceased has not been released yet.
