‘Danger to society:’ Third suspect arrested in connection to Ellis Square fight, denied bond

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - A third suspect was arrested in connection to a violent fight in Ellis Square.

Touray Williams Jr., 24, was charged with Robbery by Sudden Snatching and Party to a Crime - Aggravated Assault.

During a bond hearing Friday, Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigator Trey Connors said the charges are for his alleged role in a viral video where an unconscious man can be seen being stomped and kicked.

Williams Jr. was previously booked into jail July for his alleged role in a seperate shootout, where he faces 7 counts of aggravated assault, 3 counts of criminal damage to property, and gun charges.

He was on probation at the time of his arrest, and his being charged with violating probation. Jail records show Williams also has a hold out of another county.

On Friday, Williams Jr. had his first court appearance and was denied bond by Judge Joe Huffman.

“I am very familiar with the facts alleged in this case and I find your alleged actions to be abhorrent, and it shocks the conscious. You are denied bond as you are a danger to society.”

Elijawan Wilson, 24, was previously arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery for the fight, which happened on West Congress Street.

Tania Phillips, 25, was also arrested and charged with battery, according to the sheriff’s office. An investigation is ongoing for a fourth suspect.

“These are absolutely terrible, unacceptable and cannot be tolerated here in Chatham County,” Sheriff Richard Coleman said previously about the fight.
