Your guide to free back-to-school giveaways across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Back-to-school season is here, and organizations across southeast Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry are helping families prepare by giving away free school supplies, backpacks, uniforms and other essentials.

WTOC has compiled a growing list of back-to-school giveaways happening throughout the region to help students start the 2026-27 school year with the supplies they need. From backpacks and notebooks to uniforms, haircuts and health resources, these events are designed to ease the financial burden on families.

S2S Packs for Hope Supply Giveaway

Time: 4–6 p.m.
Where: Vintage Special Event Center, 980 Industry Drive, Savannah
Features: Backpacks, school supplies, toiletries and more (while supplies last).

July 10

KidsStreet Urgent Care Back 2 School Bash

Time: 4–6 p.m.
Where: 6999 Abercorn St., Savannah
Features: Free backpacks and school supplies for the first 300 guests, giveaways, inflatables, face painting and food.

July 11

Port Wentworth Rec Rally

Time: 9 a.m.–Noon
Where: Behind Port Wentworth City Hall
Features: Free school supplies (while supplies last), fall sports registration and family activities.

July 18

Teen Mentoring 101: Back-to-School Edition

Time: 11 a.m.–Noon
Where: Carnegie Library, Savannah
Features: Mentoring, college readiness and life skills for teens.

Health & Wellness Back-to-School Event

Time: 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
Where: Groves High School, Savannah
Features: Sports physicals, immunizations, school supplies, health screenings and community resources.

A.C.E.S. Back-to-School Annual Event

Time: Noon–2 p.m.
Where: Pooler Stadium, 200 Preston Stokes Drive, Pooler
Features: Free school supplies, food trucks, health screenings, vendors and entertainment.

July 25

Love Out Loud Uniform Drive

Time: 9 a.m.
Features: School uniforms for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Back 2 School Fest

Time: 1–4 p.m.
Where: Soul’s Baptist Church
Features: Community celebration with school support and entertainment.

Ultimate Back-to-School Bash

Time: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Features: School supply giveaway, family activities and vehicle showcase.

Central Missionary Baptist Church Back 2 School Event

Time: Noon–3 p.m.
Where: 1795 Chisolm Road, Tybee area
Features: School supplies, food, games, water slide and family fun.

Woodlawn Baptist Church Back-to-School Bash

Time: 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Where: 407 Talmadge Ave., Garden City
Features: School supplies, games and food. Children must be present to receive supplies.

July 26

K9 SC & K9 MC Hinesville Back-to-School Bash

Time: Noon
Where: Hilliary Park, Hinesville
Features: Free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts and community resources.

Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship Uniform Giveaway

Time: Activities begin at 2 p.m.; doors open at 3 p.m.
Where: 425 W. Montgomery Cross Road, Savannah
Features: Up to 1,000 uniforms, haircuts, physical activity information, community resources and food.

Aug. 1

Savannah Police Department Back-to-School Bash

Time: 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Locations: Savannah Police Department Community Engagement Center and Savannah Impact Program
Features: More than 600 backpacks with school supplies, games and community resources.
