Tybee Island launching weeklong celebration of seafood and culture
TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - A new festival celebrating coastal food and island culture is coming to Tybee Island Nov. 8 through Nov. 15.
The inaugural Tybee Seafood Fest will include specials at participating restaurants and shops throughout the week.
An Oyster Roast and Lowcountry Boil will take place Friday evening, Nov. 13, at Hotel Tybee. The event will feature food and live entertainment while benefiting Heads-Up Guidance Services, a nonprofit supporting children and families.
The celebration will conclude Saturday, Nov. 14, with the main festival from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event will include seafood vendors, live music, local businesses, arts and crafts, children’s activities and a shrimp-peeling contest.
