TRAFFIC ALERT: Blue Jay Road/Hodgeville Road intersection closes early for water service work
EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office released a traffic alert Friday to warn drivers about an early road closure. Construction to restore water service for residents in Staffordshire, Blandford Crossing, Pine Brook, Blue Jay Commons and nearby neighborhoods prompted an immediate closure of the Blue Jay Road and Hodgeville Road intersection, earlier than the previously scheduled 8 p.m. start time.
Law enforcement said drivers should use Otis Seckinger Road as a detour while crews complete the repairs.
The intersection is expected to remain closed throughout the weekend and is scheduled to reopen Monday.
