Three arrested in Chatham County car break-in spree caught on video

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) arrested three men in connection with an early-morning auto-entering spree that happened Monday in the Bluffside neighborhood.

From 3:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m., security cameras captured four people going from home to home in the Bluffside community. Video captured suspects pulling on door handles and quickly entering the cars they found unlocked. Multiple residents reported multiple items stolen (mostly from unlocked vehicles). One vehicle was damaged from the suspects trying to enter it.

Three suspects were later located, including one who attempted to use a financial card reported stolen from one of the vehicles. CCPD arrested Eugene Loury, 20, and Jamih Pryor, 20, and charged them both with entering auto. Joshua Simmons, 20, is charged with financial card fraud. All three have been transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.

CCPD says this incident highlights several key things everyone should be aware of:

• Always remove valuables and lock your vehicle. While there are some cases of unlocked vehicles being entered, officers say they repeatedly find that thieves will bypass a locked vehicle and look for an unlocked one that is quicker and easier to enter.
• If you are a victim of an entering auto – even if nothing of value was stolen – law enforcement urges you to contact police immediately. Typically, suspects will enter multiple autos on one occasion and every auto has the potential to hold valuable evidence that can be used in the case. Please call police as soon as you discover you have become a victim. The quicker they can respond and process a scene, the more likely they are to be able to make an arrest.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone who has additional information about these suspects or the case is asked to contact police.
