Teen arrested three days after East 71st street shooting

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Police Department said they have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with an East 71st Street shooting that injured a male juvenile.
Demetric Hamilton was taken into custody on Friday, August 21, and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1200 block of East 71st Street around 4:39 p.m. on Aug. 18.
Investigators found a male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound inside a residence. He was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury.
Hamilton was taken to the Chatham County Detention Center.
