Step Up Savannah hosts workshops ahead of community job fair

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Step Up Savannah and its community partners held workshops Wednesday at the Moses Jackson Advancement Center to help job seekers prepare for a community job fair.
Job seekers practiced interview skills, learned about professional etiquette and got tips on how to dress for success.
Job fair set for Thursday
Organizers said the goal is to prepare people for a community job fair Thursday at the Grant Center Gym on West Street.
Employers at the fair will offer full-time, part-time and apprenticeship jobs, including second-chance hiring for people trying to rebuild their lives.
“It’s a no-judgement zone. I mean we’re just here to build up the community. We want economic equality for the whole city of Savannah, Chatham County, and further,” said Mikki Cheatham, development and communications manager at Step Up Savannah.
The job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
