SCAD celebrates record-breaking graduating class

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - SCAD celebrated one of the largest commencement ceremonies in university history Friday at the Savannah Convention Center. President and founder Paula Wallace conferred degrees on more than 4,600 graduates, a record-breaking class for SCAD.

The day’s events began with a 9 a.m. presidential conferment of degrees, followed by multiple presentation ceremonies throughout the day. The ceremonies covered schools from liberal arts and film to fashion, fine arts, business innovation and creative technology. SCAD said its Atlanta ceremony will take place Saturday.

Internationally renowned fashion designer Stella McCartney delivered the commencement address, speaking to graduates and thousands of family members and guests who traveled from around the world.
