Savannah State University business school earns continued prestigious AACSB accreditation

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah State University’s College of Business Administration has extended its accreditation from AACSB International, maintaining one of the highest distinctions in business education worldwide.

AACSB accreditation is considered the global standard for excellence in business education. Fewer than six percent of business schools around the world have earned the designation, placing Savannah State among an elite group of accredited institutions.

The accreditation extension follows a comprehensive peer-review process that evaluates areas including faculty qualifications, curriculum, research, student learning and engagement with the business community.

University leaders say the recognition reflects the college’s commitment to preparing graduates for leadership roles in today’s global economy.

“This reaffirmation of AACSB accreditation reflects the exceptional work of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and business partners,” said Dr. Marcus Cox, Savannah State’s provost and vice president for academic affairs.

The College of Business Administration offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including fully online Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration degrees. Students can also pursue concentrations in accounting, computer information systems with a logistics and supply chain management focus, management and marketing.

Savannah State University President Dr. Jermaine Whirl said the accreditation reinforces the value of an SSU business degree and the university’s commitment to academic excellence.

Savannah State is the only public historically Black college or university in Georgia with AACSB-accredited business programs.
