Savannah Speech and Hearing Center seeks volunteers for school screenings

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Speech and Hearing Center is looking for community volunteers to help provide free hearing screenings for students in Chatham County schools.

The screenings help identify potential hearing loss in children and ensure families can take steps to have it properly addressed.

Screenings will be held Monday through Thursday mornings from August through early November. Volunteers may participate for one day or sign up for several days.

Savannah Speech and Hearing Center staff will arrange and supervise all screenings. Volunteers must complete a brief training session and background check, both provided at no cost.

Savannah Speech and Hearing Center has served children and adults since 1954. The organization provides speech, hearing, language, audiology, occupational therapy and physical therapy services, regardless of a person’s ability to pay.
