Savannah Scottish Games return for 48th year
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Scottish Games return Saturday for the 48th year at Bynuh’s Field at Bethesda Academy.
Organizers say the event includes activities for all ages, including kids’ activities, sheep herding, birds of prey, genealogy, tug-of-war, hurling and living history demonstrations.
“We’ve also got pipe band competitions. We’ve also got Celtic music. We’ve got the heavy athletics. We’ve got tug-of-war. We’ve got all kinds of things for every single person to appreciate our Scottish heritage,” said Stewart Marshall with Daniel Sotheby’s International Realty.
Gates open at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.
Former WTOC anchor Sonny Dixon will help host some of the events.
