SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Pride Festival will return to Forsyth Park on October 24 for its 27th year. The festival is expected to attract thousands of attendees and more than 100 vendors, according to Savannah Pride.

“Pride is certainly a celebration, but it has never been only a celebration,” said Michael Bell, executive director of Savannah Pride Center. “For 27 years, people have come together in Savannah to say that there is a place for us here. This year’s theme, ‘Chosen Family,’ speaks to something deeply rooted in LGBTQIA+ history — the families we create, the people who show up for us and the communities that remind us we are never alone.”

This year the festival will start with a sensory-conscious market experience. According to Savannah Pride, this will create a more accessible environment for attendees with sensory needs before they transition to the larger festival atmosphere.

Club One icons Blair Williams and Chi Chi Bonet Sherrington return to host this year’s festivities. Savannah Pride’s glow and foam party will continue the celebration into the night.

Savannah Pride Center is a nonprofit organization that aims to connect LGBTQIA+ people with affirming healthcare, mental health services, HIV/STI prevention and testing and other community resources.
