Savannah GenFest 2026 seeks presenters for genealogy and family history festival

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah Office of Municipal Archives & History has partnered with Live Oak Public Library to launch a call for presenters for Savannah GenFest 2026.
Scheduled for Oct. 16-17, the event will connect residents with genealogical resources and family history research tools available throughout Savannah and Chatham County.
Organizers say attendees will have opportunities to learn through lightning talks, interactive workshops, poster presentations and information tables highlighting local archives, heritage organizations and genealogy research.
Individuals and organizations interested in presenting are encouraged to submit proposals by Aug. 1 at 5 p.m.
Presentation opportunities include poster displays, 15-minute lightning talks, 30- and 60-minute workshops, and informational exhibits.
GenFest will be held Oct. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carnegie Library Heritage Center and Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Southwest Chatham Library.
