Savannah convicted felon indicted on murder, cocaine trafficking charges

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A Chatham County grand jury has formally indicted a Savannah man in connection with an April shooting that claimed the life of his neighbor.

Juan Ulmer, a convicted felon, is charged with malice murder, two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and trafficking cocaine.

The indictment alleges that Ulmer shot 59-year-old Kevin Milton on April 3, 2026, near Carter and Chambers streets following a street argument. Milton later died from complications of the gunshot wound.

According to court records, police recovered a Radical Arms RF-15 rifle from a recycling bin outside the home where Ulmer was staying. Ballistics matched the rifle to 16 shell casings found in the backyard.

At the time of his arrest, investigators also found Ulmer in possession of 400 grams of cocaine.

Chief Judge Joe Huffman previously bound the charges over to the grand jury, which returned the formal indictment this week.
