Roadway improvements coming to busy stretch of Highway 278 in Hardeeville

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WTOC) - Construction activity is scheduled to begin the weekend of June 7 at the intersection of Highway 278 and Latitude Boulevard.

The project is expected to be completed by June 26.

Contractors will be reworking signal cabling at the intersection to improve traffic signal operations. Motorists traveling through the area should expect minor modifications to traffic lanes and minimal travel delays.

Work will take place during overnight hours between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. to help reduce impacts on daytime traffic.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution while traveling through the construction zone and remain alert for crews and equipment in the area.

The City of Hardeeville said they appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as the improvements are completed.
