Remembering beloved chef and longtime friend of WTOC, Joe Randall
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A beloved chef in our community and a longtime friend of WTOC, Joe Randall passed away over the weekend, surrounded by his loved ones.
Chef Joe Randall, known as the “Dean of Southern Cuisine,” was a nationally celebrated chef, cookbook author and mentor who once hosted a show on WTOC. He is featured in the National Museum of African-American History in Washington, D.C.
He co-authored “A Taste of Heritage,” which was later inducted into the James Beard Foundation Cookbook Hall of Fame. Randall founded a cooking school in Savannah that trained aspiring chefs from around the world.
Chef Joe leaves behind a lasting legacy in American cuisine and in the community. He will be missed dearly.
