Reidsville police receive first federal grant to boost traffic safety

REIDSVILLE, Ga. – The Reidsville Police Department has received its first federal grant to help make roads safer.
The city says the department was awarded a $32,879 High Visibility Enforcement grant through the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The grant is funded through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The grant will support efforts to increase traffic enforcement, address dangerous driving and reduce crashes, injuries and deaths. That includes DUI enforcement and seat belt safety campaigns.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment for the Reidsville Police Department, and I want to congratulate Chief Matt Lynn and every member of our department,” Mayor Vickie Nail said. “This funding is not only an achievement for the department, but an investment in the safety of every citizen who travels our roads.”
