Parker’s Kitchen founder plans ‘skyline building’ in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A downtown Savannah building could be demolished to make way for a new development described as a “skyline building.”
Greg Parker, founder of Parker’s Kitchen, is seeking to demolish the building at 15 Bull Street, located between Johnson Square and Savannah City Hall.
The Savannah Historic District Board of Review unanimously approved the demolition plans.
Savannah Mayor Van Johnson addressed the potential development during his weekly news conference, saying new investment could help downtown thrive but may also create additional challenges.
“I’m glad that people want to invest in Savannah,” Johnson said. “This creates an opportunity for a variety of things, and it keeps our downtown thriving. On the other end, it brings more congestion to a congested area, so as we continue to look through that balance, we have to address the livability for a downtown community.”
Another major development is already underway nearby: Savannah’s first Ritz-Carlton hotel.
WTOC will continue following the proposed demolition and plans for the property.
