One Love Animal Rescue offering free vaccines and microchips

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - One Love Animal Rescue and Chatham Subaru are teaming up to provide free veterinary services and help local animals find forever homes.

The organizations will host two events in October through the Subaru Loves Pets initiative. The events are supported by a grant from Chatham Subaru administered by the ASPCA.

The first event will offer free vaccinations and microchips for owned dogs and cats from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at Daffin Park. Participants should enter near Washington Avenue and Waters Avenue.

Appointments are not required, but supplies are limited. Services will be restricted to two pets per household.

Available vaccines include:

• Rabies vaccines for dogs and cats
• DHPP vaccines for dogs
• FVRCP vaccines for cats

All dogs must be kept on leashes, while cats must be brought in separate carriers. A limited number of leashes and carriers will be available for pet owners who need them.

The organization will also distribute pet food and provide vouchers for low-cost spay and neuter services.

The clinic is part of One Love Animal Rescue’s Operation Pet Solutions program, which helps owners access resources to keep their pets at home instead of surrendering them.

“We have loving pet parents who need just a little extra support so they can keep their pets in their forever homes,” CEO and co-founder Karrie Bulski said.

The second event will feature adoptable dogs and cats looking for new homes. It will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Chatham Subaru, located at 100 Kita Ave. in Pooler.
