New four-way stop coming to busy Historic Bluffton intersection

by Shakuria Smith

BLUFFTON, Sc. (WTOC) - Drivers in Bluffton should prepare for a traffic pattern change next week as the Town of Bluffton installs a new four-way stop at the intersection of Lawrence and Boundary streets.

Installation is scheduled to begin late Monday, with crews adding new stop signs and pavement markings over the following several days.

Town officials say the new four-way stop is designed to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists traveling through the busy intersection.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area and, if possible, choose an alternate route while crews complete the installation.

The town expects the new traffic control measures to be in place by the end of the work period.
