Max Lockwood Dr. closed for 14 weeks for major upgrades in Statesboro

STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Statesboro wrote Max Lockwood Drive will be closed for about 14 weeks to allow for major infrastructure upgrades including fully reconstructing the roadway pavement.
They said closures will start on Monday, August 17.
Other improvements include drainage improvements, new curb and gutter, sidewalk construction, and utility upgrades.

Detours:
- Honey Bowen Building, Playground & Tennis/Pickleball Courts
- Access via the new entrance on Fair Road, just south of the Honey Bowen Building. Overflow parking is available in the grass area adjacent to the existing parking lot south of the building.
- Restaurant & Shopping Center (adjacent to Max Lockwood Dr.)
- Access via the existing parking lot entrance/exit on Fair Road. The Max Lockwood entrance will be closed during this time.
