Mass shooting in Macon leaves 12 teens injured, authorities say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Twelve teenagers were injured Saturday in a shooting at a Macon park, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were alerted to the incident at Carolyn Crayton Park just after midnight Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office.

While on the way to the scene, deputies received reports of several gunshot victims arriving at a local medical facility after the shooting.

Among those treated for injuries were four 18-year-olds, five 17-year-olds males and two 18-year-old girls, authorities said.

One of the 17-year-old boys is in critical condition, while the other victims are in stable condition, the sheriff’s office said.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the sheriff’s office is investigating the shooting and the circumstances that led up to it.
