Man hospitalized with gunshot wound to foot after shooting on Largo Drive
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 10:15 p.m.] The Savannah Police Department has released new details regarding an afternoon shooting on Largo Drive that prompted a temporary shelter-in-place warning for Georgia Southern University students.
Officers responded to the scene in the 11000 block of Largo Drive at around 4:10 p.m., where they discovered an adult male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his foot.
Responding officers provided initial medical aid on the scene before the victim was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for further treatment.
Savannah Alderman Kurtis Purtee stated in a social media post that the shooting, which occurred near a local barbershop and gas station, “appears to be an isolated and targeted incident.”

The alderman said this, “appears to be an isolated and targeted incident.”
The Savannah Police Department confirmed they are investigating the shooting. Police also specified that the man was shot in the foot.
