Man dead after fatal crash on Ogeechee Rd. Tuesday night

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE] The Chatham County Coroner, David Campbell is investigating a death that occurred on Ogeechee Road. The coroner said 64-year-old Michael Fields died at a local hospital from injuries received from a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash.
[ORIGINAL STORY] The Savannah Police Department and other emergency crews are on the scene of a crash on Ogeechee Road at Gamble Road.
Police on scene say the Tuesday night crash involves a pedestrian who was transported to the hospital.
Officers have closed all lanes of Ogeechee Road at Gamble Road and near Savannah Gardens Inn.
