Lowcountry musician returning to roots for Hilton Head benefit concert

by Tyler Walls

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Long before he was performing on stages across the Lowcountry, local musician Nick Poulin was a student at The Children’s Center on Hilton Head Island. This October, Poulin is set to return to his roots.

His band, Pretty Darn, will headline the annual “Concert for the Kids” fundraiser on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Poseidon Rooftop. The event raises money for The Children’s Center, a local nonprofit that provides early childhood education and childcare to families in the Hilton Head area.

Poulin, who forms the popular pop-folk duo alongside Kyle Wareham, credits the center with helping shape his early years.

“Concert for the Kids” is one of the primary annual fundraisers for the center, helping to fund its early childhood programs.
