Long County fire leaves one displaced

LONG COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - One person is displaced after a fire completely destroyed a Long County mobile home.

The Long County Fire Department were called to a single-wide mobile home on Elm Church Road just before 8:30 P.M. Friday night.

Long County Emergency Management Agency says upon arrival, crews spotted the home around 50% engulfed in flames.

The home is considered a total loss.

Long County EMA says the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen area, although the exact cause remains under investigation.

The American Red Cross was contacted shortly after the fire was extinguished to provide emergency housing and immediate assistance to the displaced resident.
